Coach RJ

Coach RJ holds an undergraduate degree in exercise science and is currently pursuing his master's in strength and conditioning. Before that, he spent four years at Stratton Mountain School working with winter sport athletes and developing training programs.

Today he coaches college athletes at Colby-Sawyer College. His experience spans training facility work, weight room supervision, and international offseason training programs.

Coaching philosophy

The foundation is passion and energy — fostering an environment that values learning and growth over results and ego. Athletes are partners in the work, not subjects of it. That means programming is individualized, communicated clearly, and adjusted based on athlete response.

Consistency over intensity

The work that compounds is the work that gets done — not the heroic week followed by three quiet ones.

Enjoyment over ego

Athletes who like the process stick with the process. Ego is fragile; enjoyment is durable.

Process over outcome

Outcomes are downstream of habits. Get the inputs right and the outputs follow.
